We anchor in the tranquilly of the lagoon at Bora Bora and set foot ashore to discover the island. Bora Bora is a veritable treasure trove of natural beauties, from beachcombing along Matira Beach to hiking up Mount Otemanu for a panoramic panorama that will take your breath away.
Raiatea and Taha'a: Sacred Sites and Vanilla
We continued our journey towards Raiatea and Taha'a, two nearby islands. The history and culture of the Polynesians may be found in abundance on the "Sacred Island" of Raiatea. Here we learn about the history of the famous Polynesian explorers who formerly called this area home by seeing ancient marae (stone temples).
The vanilla plantations of Taha'a, sometimes called as "Vanilla Island," provide a pleasant aroma. We just had to bring back some of these Tahitian vanilla jewels to enjoy at home after visiting one of these estates and having a sensory experience unlike any other.
Entering the Blue Abyss at Rangiroa
As we set sail for Rangiroa, one of the world's largest atolls, our journey takes an exciting new turn. Rangiroa is a scuba diver's heaven thanks to its beautiful blue lagoon. During our deep dive into the Pacific Ocean, we see a stunning variety of marine life, from playful dolphins to massive manta rays, at the Tiputa Pass.
